Jakarta
Jakarta, the capital of Indonesia with over 11 million people, is Yanka’s hometown. As one of the largest cities in the world, Jakarta offers a vibrant mix of culture, food, and energy. The city is known for its lively food scene and vibrant nightlife, but also its notorious traffic and crowded streets.
For a taste of Jakarta’s history, head to Kota Tua, the old town, where you can step back in time to Batavia during the Dutch Colonial era. If you’re looking for a quick escape from the hustle and bustle, take a speedboat from North Jakarta and discover the Thousand Islands, a peaceful archipelago perfect for a relaxing getaway surrounded by turquoise water and white sandy beaches. Or, if you’re in the mood for shopping and exploring, Jakarta’s malls offer everything from high-end brands to unique local finds.
